For over 30 years Jim Hastings, founder and president of Creative Solutions has been involved in the promotions/advertising industry helping various businesses find solutions to their most pressing promotional challenges.
Creative Solutions opened its doors in 1986 in Kirkland, WA. After having developed a handful of unique eye-catching tee shirt designs Jim saw an opportunity to pioneer and develop product for a niche market, the automobile industry.
He created an exclusive line of air-brushed/screen-printed automobile design tee shirts and sweatshirts starting with Porsche, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. (check out his very first design from 1986 depicting a 930 Turbo Carrera Porsche under the “Auto Dealers” tab on the home page) Pounding the streets, going door to door presenting his apparel to parts managers as a way of enhancing their boutique image and boosting retail sales he received extremely positive results.
TRAVELED COAST TO COAST
After covering the Pacific Northwest and not particularly relishing the need to hoist his sample shirts in and out of his car all day long in the pouring rain, (yes, it does really rain in Seattle) Jim decided it was time to expand his reach and take his line of apparel to California
On his first business trip to the Golden State he thought he had struck gold! Instead of having automobile dealerships lined up and down the streets they actually had something called “auto malls”. What a revelation! He didn’t need an umbrella and he could spend all day selling in one location! He felt like a kid in a candy store!
For six consecutive years Jim spent 230-240 days a year traveling from coast to coast throughout the U.S. selling his shirts to automobile dealerships.
In December 1995, Jim Hastings, owner of Creative Solutions relocated his multi-million dollar company to southern California when it began to expand its offerings to include embroidered apparel. Over time, growth of Jim’s company offerings now include a full line of promotional products and services. The automobile industry continues to be our primary market even though we are building and expanding our services to local businesses as well.

JIM’S COMMITMENT TO THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY
Sadly, Jim lost his mother to cancer 25 years ago. As a result, Jim's charity of choice is the American Cancer Society. He has been an active volunteer for the past 7 years in Simi Valley, Westlake Village and Calabasas for Bark for Life (a subsidiary of the American Cancer Society) as both a board member as well as the provider of promotional apparel and products for their events.
